AIAA Apollo Series Winners!

🌟Paisley Artner 🌟Jake Drews 🌟Grace Flynn 🌟Daniel Marek 🌟Trinity Nett

Team Flamenwerfer Axoltls’ winning experiment - How a Mamestra brassicae larva makes a chrysalis in microgravity.
Their experiment launched to the International Space Station aboard NG-14 from Wallops on October 3, 2020. Due to a hardware failure on-orbit, this experiment will be flown again aboard SpaceX-22 which is currently scheduled for summer 2021.

Higher Orbits would like to give an extra special thanks to AIAA for sponsoring this series of events and to Scot Forge for being the presenting partner for the Go For Launch! Spring Grove event.

“IMichelle Lucas and Higher Orbits deliver a STEM experience that is unlike anything else. The opportunity to work directly with an astronaut and launch an experiment into space is nothing short of amazing, but the real value of the Go For Launch program goes lightyears beyond the event itself. Designing an experiment is no easy task, as students are challenged with team building, agile thinking and adaptability. These skills play significant role in achieving the competition goals, which ultimately impart a genuine sense of accomplishment. No matter what the outcome, the Go For Launch program provides a rich and deep experience that has a truly powerful impact on those lucky enough to participate”

Jason Artner // Director of Aerospace Programs, Scot Forge Company

"Go For Launch! is such an amazing opportunity for teenagers to explore and learn about outer space and have the chance to send one of their own experiments into the international space station. Being selected as one of the winners was one of the greatest feelings on the planet and beyond. I remember watching the results live, having a camera in my face, and being to surprised to speak. It was surreal. That was only the first part of it, actually sending an experiment into space was even more of an awesome feeling knowing that myself and my high school friends were able to accomplish something as great as this. It’s also given so many great opportunities such as meeting astronauts and going to space conventions. Overall, it was an out of this world event."
